Vacation Bible School

Our theme for Vacation Bible School this year is "Shipwrecked: Rescued by Jesus" and plans to decorate the sanctuary are in full swing.  The following is a list of items we need to borrow and also some items that we would not be able to return once we use them!  If you can help out with any of these items please email Penny Hoekstra at and she will arrange to pick them up, items we will return: 4-5 old style lanterns, a bar stool with no back, empty wrapping paper tubes (max 10), lots of plain rope.  Items that look like they may have floated ashore from a shipwreck (think Swiss Family Robinson).  Items we will not be able to return - fake tropical or brightly colored plants, a tan sheet.

Graduate Sunday

On Sunday, May 27th, we will celebrate our graduates.  If you or your child is graduating please let us know so we can celebrate with you.  If you would like to submit a photo for the slide show, please email a picture to: or drop off a picture at the church office.  For the bulletin insert, please submit graduate's name and the school from which they will graduate.  The deadline for submissions is Monday, May 21st.

Hidden in Plain Sight

We will be presenting a program entitled "Hidden in Plain Sight" for parents, grandparents and other interested adults on Wed, June 13 beginning at 6:30 pm and should end by 9 pm.  Children and youth are not allowed to attend this event.  Childcare will be provided for children ages 3 months through completion of 5th grade.  This event will take place at First Place and check in will take place in the Worship Center at 6:30. A simulated teenager's bedroom will be set up in the Agape Room and ten people at a time will be allowed in for 5 minutes to look around and take note of items they feel might be indicative of dangerous and risky behaviors.  After all the groups have had the opportunity to look around, Ian Ridgeway from the Tri-County Board of Recovery and Mental Health Services will speak with us and explain all the hazards that were in the room.  There will also be a time for questions at the conclusion.  Please email Penny Hoekstra at or Susan Brumfield at or call the church office to sign up.  Registration will be accepted until June 13th.
