Thursday from 6:30PM - 7:45PM starting September 5th 2019 in the Agape Room at First Place Christian Center.  We will use The Life Recovery Bible and Workbook.  This is an open meeting for family and friends as well.  Cookies and coffee will be provided.

Prayer Lab

Join Pastor Ty’s Thursday Night Bible Study on the third Thursday’s of the month for Prayer Lab: August 15, September 19 and October 17.  We will learn and engage in ancient prayer practices that help us connect more deeply to God and ground us in our identity as God’s beloved.


Our children’s church, entitled JAM (Jesus and Me) takes place immediately following the Children’s Momentat the 10:45 traditional serviceon most Sunday mornings and the children are escorted out of the sanctuary to the waiting volunteer parents, all of whom are background checked. The Children’s Moment is listed in the bulletin and it will be noted if the children are going upstairs or staying in worship each Sunday. This ministry takes place on the 3rdfloor in Room 304 and the volunteer parents will share a Bible Story with the children and then allow some play time. Parents are requested to pick their children up in Room 304 immediately following the end of our service. This ministryruns from the Sunday after Labor Day through the Sunday before Memorial Day. We take a break for the summer months.

Guy's Cookout and Bonfire

Sunday, September 22nd from 5-7 or so.  Bring a dish to share (nothing fancy needed, it’s a cookout).  Burgers, brats and jalapeno poppers provided.  Email Pastor Chris at to RSVP and receive directions to his hermitage/place back in the woods.

Nicaragua Mission Trip - January 18 - 25, 2020

Informational Meeting Sunday, Oct 6th at noon

Please be in prayer for our ministries in Nicaragua. We will be sharing the love of Jesus with our friends in Nicaragua and supporting our ministries at Project Chacocente and Tesoros de Dios (Bradley’s). This trip will involve helping build a chapel at Chacocente school alongside the families of Chacocente. We will also visit Tesoros de Dios and do home visits of the children they serve.We will share God’s love with the children and their caretakers at Mustard seed Orphanage. We will continue the table ministry and evangelism in various areas.We will explore some of God’s creation in this country by visiting a volcano and swimming in a lagoon. You will be immersed into the culture and will enjoy visiting our delegation host’s home (Omar) as well as listening to different speakers in the evening during our daily debriefing.During our evening gathering we will share how we saw God at work each day. An informational meeting will be held Sunday October 6that noon in the main church office to discuss the trip and cover other important information including cost. Signups are available outside the church office. This trip will be lead by Pastor Bob & Janet Lybarger and Pastor Chris.

Freedom Sunday

What is Freedom Sunday?  It is our invitation to learn more about the issue of modern day slavery, to understand God's heart to end it, and to join thousands of churches around the world in the fight.  Join Troy First on Sunday, Sept 22nd, for a special service dedicated to the 40 million men, women and children estimated to be in slavery globally.

Health News

St. Patrick Catholic Church is beginning their GRIEFSHARE groups.  
FALL Session begins Wednesday, September 11, 2019.  This is a weekly seminar/support group for people grieving the cessation of a close personal relationship by death.  At GRIEFSHARE, you’ll learn valuable information that will help you through this difficult time in your life.  We will feature videotape seminar sessions with nationally recognized experts on grief and recovery topics.  All programs will be held in the St. Patrick parish center, 444 East Water St., upstairs in room 3, each Wednesday for 13 weeks.  There are brochures about the program on the health ministry table.  Call Pat Smith at 937-335-2833 ext. 105 for more information.
