The United Methodist Women will be accepting Rummage Sale items the week of June 14. The sale will be on June 18 and 19th. As you do your Spring Cleaning please remember our Rummage sale. Thank you to our Church Family for all their support of this mission project. The United Methodist Women of Troy First.


Prayer Garden Bricks

We are planning a path of personalized bricks in our new prayer garden. These bricks can be in memory of a loved one, to honor someone important in your life, or as a thank you.  There is an order form attached to our weekly email blast, order forms on the Gathering room table, or simply click HERE.

Soul Sisters Announcement

Come join us as we discuss “the way of love” Wednesday, April 28th from 10-11am.  We will meet the second and fourth Wednesday of each month in the Agape room. This will be a time of friendship, inspiration, reflection, and spiritual encouragement for women of all ages with lessons and stories of God’s love.  Any questions or to register, please contact Evelyn at 631-455-7392 or ewest0345@gmail.com.

SERVING OPPORTUNITIES

*Greeters Needed!

Since we are opening up and more people are attending services, we are adding greeters at the Franklin St. and Cherry St. doors. I am in search of anyone who would like to be a greeter and possible hand out bulletins at the doors. If you are interested, please contact me, Nancy Johnson, at sam1973@att.net or at 937-308-0019 or on Sunday at the 11:00AM service. I am looking for greeters at the 8:00AM and 11:00AM services. Thanks so much for your willing participation.

Take Them a Meal

We are hoping to expand our meal ministry and would love to extend the invitation to all of our church family to become involved!  It's easy, we add your email to our Take Them a Meal listing and whenever a need comes to my attention we will send an email giving you the details.  If you are able to help with this request you sign up.  If not, there is no pressure and you will receive an email the next time we have a need.  Please email me at phoekstra@troyfumc.org or call the church office at (937) 335-2826.

 

Cookies

If you have a heart for helping brothers & sisters in recovery, bake some cookies, 2 dozen, anything from homemade to Oreo’s. They can be brought into the church office on Thursday’s between 9AM-5PM.  There is a signup sheet outside the office or you can call the office 937-335-2826 with a date you would like to provide cookies.

FIRST FAMILY NEWS

Coffee with Pastor Chris

The invitation is always open.  Whether you like coffee, tea, lunch, or better yet, ice cream, Pastor Chris would love to spend an hour with you getting to know and listening to your life story.  If you haven’t had a one on one time yet and/or with your own family, he wants to meet with you!  Call or email, and he would be honored to visit, whether it is out and about, at church or somewhere else you prefer. Call the church office to make an appointment, 937-335-2826.

Today's altar flowers are given to the Glory of God by an anonymous donor, in memory of Paul Revere’s Ride—“Listen my children, and you shall hear of the midnight ride of Paul Revere on the eighteenth of April in seventy-five, hardly a man is now alive who remembers that famous day and year.”

Hospital Visits

If you are admitted to a hospital and desire a Pastoral visit, PLEASE call or have a family member call the church to let us know.  Due to HIPPA laws the hospital will not notify us unless you specifically ask them to notify your church Pastor.  We go when we know, please call 937-335-2826.

Please note: Many healthcare facilities have suspended Pastoral visits due to COVID-19, except under end of life circumstances. Please feel free to call the church office and make special arrangements, 937-335-2826.

TRAVEL & ADVENTURE MINISTRIES

Holy Land update

*Israel is opening up very slowly.  This being said we are delaying our trip until November 7-17, 2022.  Your $500.00 deposit can stay in the treasury or if you prefer a refund, it can be requested.  Just let Diana know your preference.

 

*Let's Go

We still need people to join us on our trip to Branson & The Ozarks.  Seven shows are included.  Deposit due now.  Flyers on the Let’s Go table, outside the office.  We have rebooked our trip to New England with Collette, new flyers available.  Deposit due now.  If the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta is on your bucket list seats still are available.  Over 600 hot air balloons promise to be a spectacular sight.  Deposit due now.  Let’s Go had requests for another try to Oberammergau next year.  We have secured 30 seats.  It is booked with Collette and looks like an amazing adventure.  Besides the Passion play we will be in Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Italy.  $800 deposit due

May 24, 2021 to save $150.  Second deposit $1500 due July 17, 2021.  Final payment is March 19, 2022.  Flyers available.  Questions call Diana Shellenberger, 937-216-7088.
